* Bryce is doing several things he shouldn't be. Not only is he officially "outside" the city, which is forbidden, but he's skipping out on his patrol to see to the injured people on the docks. Debatably that's forgivable, but he didn't exactly ask permission. The healer can be rather willful about things from time to time. The fires are still burning, and unforunately spreading as well with the winds and current pushing the burn
<Bryce> pushing the burning oil northwest against the docks and boats trapped in the harbor. Ourani soldiers are rushing everywhere on various tasks, but Bryce is simply focusing on triage and sorting out those that can survive until more doctors arrive, and those that can't. The ones that are the worst off are the lucky ones, because the healer will intervene with magic. The rest will suffer the pain of their injuries.
* Anie is now known as Lason
<Lason> And those with the injuries curable would likely have to suffer through Lason's company - though they would all probably continue living. He would be the first of the Galen's to the scene, running and kicking up snow. Adina would, naturally stay at the infirmary with Ritta to treat anyone who was taken there, and presumably some of the other physicians would be on their way shortly. --
<Lason> --Taking note of Bryce as he manages to squeeze past a horde of Ourani. Ordering a bunch to his side to carry those who could go, to the infirmary as he likewise sorted them "Healer... what are you doing here?" It was an angry demand as he began to take a look at some of those nearest to him.
<Bryce> Lason may not have the easiest time just ordering the Ourani around, but a few will help him since a large number of the injured are their own men.. or lizards. Bryce looks up from wrapping a bleeding gash on a man's head, pale green eyes watching Lason warily. "I am helping. These people.. here.. they will be okay for sahm time. Those.. there, I will help. They are very bad." He gestures accordingly, holding off on the hea
<Bryce> off on the healing until neccessary since it will likely wear him out for the rest of the night.
<Lason> /me would continue on, despite the difficulty he had in obtaining men to help him carry bodies. But a few would join and regardless, the man was good at giving orders. Not even looking up as he began treating some of the more serious burns on the men who were still alive but burned or hurt to badly to walk or even be carried. --
<Lason> --"Helping... do you even have permission to be here .. Mr. Larose," His tone was snide, especially the way he said the man's name.
<Bryce> With Lason stepping in, he'll abandon conventional methods to let the other doctor do that work. He moves to those that are the most badly injured and not likely to survive the night, carefully pulling off his gloves and tucking them away in his belt. He has his fears that Lason will interfere while he's healing, but getting into a fight with the man right now wouldn't help anyone. "No.. You can tell the captain when I am don
<Bryce> when I am done." He mutters, kneeling down in the slush next to the dying Ourani soldier.
* Lason sort of snorted at the comment, moving on to the rest of those in line, handing off the assessed and mildly treated ones to the runners he would have to trust to get the men back to the infirmary. Minor injuries would have to wait. He didn't interefere with the healer and his craft - maybe because he was afraid of whatever magic it was, though by the looks of it, --
<Lason> --he was actually letting Bryce go about uninterrupted. "Don't get carried away healer... I have no intention of carrying your ass, anywhere."
<Bryce> Well, it's all fine and well to -say- that, but Bryce isn't going to leave a person to die if the only thing in his way is needing some help back to the barracks because he's exhausted. He glances up to be sure Lason isn't looking to stop him, then focuses on the magic. There are only five people, a couple of men and three nimodo, but they're all critically wounded and the drain on Bryce is tremendous. After the first two he ta
<Bryce> first two he takes a small break, feeling sick from from the magic that he uses so rarely these days. Still, the healing is impressive, and the burns and other wounds are completely repaired.
<Lason> He did say a lot. But as things wrapped up and the cold began to really sink in, he would send off the last of the patients to the infirmary and bandage the remaining men. And if Bryce did manage to wear himself to the point of collapsing, he would carry him, but not back to the barracks - It was one thing, hating the man for what he did, --
<Lason> --but it was completely another to leave them out to freeze. And winter weather in Sinari was a cold unlike anywhere else in the world.
