* Kynian strides in, a steel wall trimmed in ice blue, jaw set in a grimace and with a look on his face that is so unusual for him, he barely looks like himself. His tone is quizzically soft and polite as he asks a nurse, "Sadurean Avinash?"

<Sadurean> Rhen had gotten the bard to the infirmary, got him to a room.. The setting of the broken bones had involved considerable screams of pain until the boy finally passed out, which left the doctor and nurse with a much more managable patient. Liberal amounts of ice were used to help with the pain and swollen tissue, and after tightly splinting the arm they left it elevated on pillows to check on later when the swelling went down. When Kynian sho

<Sadurean> swelling went down. When Kynian shows up several hours later, the nurse will point out the room he's in and caution that he might still be asleep and not to wake him if he is.

* Kynian pauses a moment to thank her, his face softening. Doesn't want to unnerve the poor girl. He'll walk quietly to the room indicated and open the door a bit, looking in to see if there's a light and if the bard is asleep. Quietly, he asks, "Durean..?"

* Sadurean is half awake, caught in a miasmic world between sleep and consciousness. His arm? The pain is horrible. There's a throbbing that feels like it's pulsing through his body with every heartbeat, and he can't quite remember -why-. Hearing his name convinces him that it might be worth dredging himself from the half-conscious state, and with it the memory of everything that happened returns. The bard opens his blue eyes, surprised to see th

<Sadurean> blue eyes, surprised to see the knight of all people. "Osonea?"

* Kynian nods, his eyes dark, mouth set in a grim line. Wounded on the battelfield was one thing the young warrior understood, but this was... well, this was entirely different. "I suppose the only questions of import right now are 'Will you live?' and 'What am I to do to Roi Avers on my friend's behalf?'"

<Sadurean> "Will I live? I guess." He's not completely together yet, and he feels a bit groggy from some medicine Adina gave him earlier when Rhen first brought him in. "That bastard.. He's crazy." Throwing chairs around, breaking his arm because he insulted him a bit. "How did you hear? What time is it?" There's no clock in the room, nor window. Durean sounds tired, and if he looked pained and stressed over the last few days, that internal tor

<Sadurean> last few days, that internal torment was nothing compared to his current malady.. not that the Mendrick's spell will go away.

<Kynian> "Well after dark, I'd say. I was out tracking. Snow is different from the terrain back home. I've been expanding my area concentrically around the town proper, hunting... But that's not important right now. I..." Kynian is a fighter, and he's seen the wounded before. And granted, he's never been one for his brother's notion of 'Shut up and walk it off', 'play through the pain', or that. But he clearly feels Sadurean's pain. "Yo

<Kynian> Sadurean's pain. "You're no fighter, Durean. That bastard Roi Avers... And to think he called himself 'noble'. Being a bully is bad, but to claim right of rule and to deliberately harm someone half your size..." As he speaks, Kynian's face goes from one of reserved sympathy to righteous fury.

* Sadurean soaks up the sympathy, something he rarely gets these days. Still, he knows better than to fish for more, but there's a small smile of appreciation for Kynian's sentiments. If he had known that Roi was going to be so brutal, he wouldn't have spoken to him at all. "You know him?" That news is surprising.

* Kynian nods, which slowly turns into a shake of his head. "We've met, yes. He told me of his deposed father, his murderous uncle, his birthright being stripped from him. I had felt for the indignities done him. Now... Now I think it may have been justice being done for the wrongs of his character. Frankly I think he is very sad. But nothing can forgive such as this... 'A knight protects the weak'. The same Sould be true of a nob

<Kynian> be true of a noble. He lost the title, and in my eyes he has now lost the right to it. I will not be writing my father to aid Roi Avers... He is in the Frost Watch, is he not?"

<Sadurean> "That's what he told me about.. bandits killing his family. I told him I would sell him the information he wanted.." He pauses, wincing from a small movement sending stabs of pain through his arm and shoulder, "That was when he attacked me the first time." He frowns, "This time I argued with him for calling me a liar. He's in the Watch. I'm going to talk to the captain tomorrow."

<Kynian> "If you wish a trial by combat, I will stand for you." He says it simply, sincerely, as he says everything. There is no deception in this man, and clearly he sees the best in people first. He is very disappointed in Roi Avers, and it's evident in the way he speaks of the refugee. "It was not by chance he went for your arm. As a musician, he has wounded your craft as well as your body. I..." Kynian bites down on his last wo

<Kynian> down on his last words, too angry to continue without losing his temper. It is wrong. WRONG. Unjust and intolerable. "This demands justice, and as he is the Captain's man, I'll see to it that he deals with Avers properly. Captain Calanthar seemed an honorable man. If he will sit in judgement, I can only hope it is just."

* Sadurean stares at Kynian for a moment, stunned by his offer. "Whoa.. wait. I don't need any combat trial or anything." This is getting complicated rather quickly, and while he appreciates that this knight is willing to do it, it's too much for him to process right now. "Captain Devregon knows me pretty well.. He was mad the first time I told him about Avers."

* Kynian smiles. It suits him better than all this grimacing. "I hope not. But if you do, as I have accepted your hospitality and consider you a friend, it would be my honor to do so. I'd rather it not come to that, of course. If only all conflicts could be solved peaceably I would have no need of all this training I've had."

* Sadurean smirks, able to hold on to a small bit of his sense of humor despite his suffering. "Then what would I have to write songs about? Ugghh.. my compositions! I hate writing left-handed.." He groans. Clearly this isn't the first time he's been crippled in his work. Of course, given how splendidly Lason worked on his broken fingers before, he's only assuming that the recovery from this setback can't be any worse. "Tha

<Sadurean> worse. "That bastard. Shit!.. I left the folder at the bar." He glances around the room, looking for the heavy leather folio he often carries.

<Kynian> "Folder? I'll ask the barmaid for it. And I can take your music down for you. I am familiar with several compositional styles and am actually not a bad hand with violin and drums. I was raised properly, educated in the creative arts as well as the martial." Chukling, he adds, "Although I will say I never thought I'd use any of it in just this way."

<Sadurean> "Yeah? Violin?.. Hmm.. maybe." He's loath to share his music with anyone, being exceptionally private about works in progress and some of his more extensive projects. Back at the house the office is filled with hundreds of pages of music, many his own, more from his father. Then again, despite his reluctance to allow anyone to see his work, he doesn't want to lose a few months of time. He's already behind in his studies. "

<Sadurean> his studies. "Do you have a violin? I could get one from the guild."

<Kynian> "Regretably, I have none. I didn't think it would help much against the Sinari Ice Beast, nor that it would far well aboardship... Regardless, I should go. You need rest as much as anything."

<Sadurean> "I don't think I'll be able to get back to sleep. If you can get my folio, that would be very helpful." His concern is growing. Not only are a bunch of class papers in it, but some of his personal work as well. "Thank you for coming by." Sadurean -can- be polite, and appreciative. He can even be rather endearing and sweet. The problem is that when people rub him the wrong way he turns into a rather destructive and vindic

<Sadurean> destructive and vindictive force. "I.. I'm sorry I was such an ass." He said some fairly nasty things to Osonea, undeserving things.

<Kynian> "A knight is patient," is all he says. With a grin, Kynian Osonea stands and walks to the doorway. "I will find your folder."

* Kynian with that, he nods, turns, and leaves
